Hannah Dawe, MA yoga studies, 1000YTT
I’m endlessly fascinated by the body, the psyche, and their dynamic relationship. As a teenager I didn’t have tools to understand how to 1. see my thoughts or 2. filter what thoughts influenced my sense of self, my body and my relationships. Yoga changed that - it lifted a layer revealing the invisible workings that were creating distress. This peaked a curiosity that led me to study many modalities of movement and approaches to mindfulness to better understand the transformational power of these modalities, and ultimately how to help myself and others experience whole being health.
My formal studies include: 200hr Teacher Training through Yogaworks under the guidance of Kia Miller, BA in Dance and MA in Yoga Studies from Loyola Marymount University, Yogaworks Kids Teacher, 500hr Teaching Training through Yoga Medicine with Tiffany Cruikshank. I'm also a certified cycling, barre, mat pilates teacher, and f45 trainer.
Less formal, but no less enriching, is the ongoing training teaching diverse practices to diverse people. What I’ve learned from teaching since 2011, is that the willingness to experiment with curiosity and kindness creates a strong foundation for whatever you want to create. Compassion for ourselves and each other is good company to keep in a world that throwing curve balls.
Wether working with someone rehabbing an acute injury, getting back into their body after or break or doing the daily maintenance, my intention as a teacher is to offer practices that help deepen self-awareness, mental and physical resilience, and compassion so you can align with actions that empower wellbeing.
